A perfect Neivedyam for God. Wonderful and healthy desert item for the festival day.
SERVING SIZE – 3
INGREDIENTS:
- Moong dal – 2 tbsp
- Channa dal – 1 tbsp
- Grated Jaggery – 1/4 cup
- Warm Milk – 1/2 cup
- Cardomom powder – 2 pinches
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Cashewnuts – 4 nos
- Grated coconut – 2 tsp
PREPARATION:
- Heat the Kadai and add few drops of ghee. Add the Dal and fry until golden color. Fry it in the medium flame. Keep it aside and let it cool.
- Cook the Dal in the pressure cooker with 3/4 cup of water up to 3 whistle.
- Take a Kadai, melt the Jaggery with 1/4 cup of water and filter the impurities. Again, add it in the same Kadai and bring it into one boil. Add the cooked and mashed Dal into the boiling Jaggery water and mix it well. Let it boil for 2 minutes and switch off the stove.
- Add the Cardamom powder and mix it well. Add the warm milk and mix it well.
- Heat the ghee and fry the cashews and coconut until golden color and mix it with the payasam.
- Serve it hot or cold.
