A simple quickie and yet tasty recipe that is liked by all.

Ingredients:
- Tomato [M] – 2 nos
- Onion [M] – 1 no
- Rice – 1 cup
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chili powder – ¼ tsp / to taste
- Green chili – 1 no
- Ginger garlic paste – ¼ tsp
- Salt – to taste
- Water – 1 ¾ to 2 cups
- Coriander leaves – few
For Seasoning:
- Oil and butter – 3 tbsp.
- Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
- Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
- Bay leaf – 1 no
- Cardamom – 2 nos
- Cinnamon stick – 1 inch
- Cloves – 2nos

Preparation Time – 20 min
Preparation:
- Wash and Soak the rice for 10 min.
- Take a Pressure Cooker and heat the Oil and Butter. Add the Mustard and cumin seeds. When it crackles, add the Whole Garam masala.
- Add the chopped onion and when it turns translucent, add the Green Chili, Ginger Garlic paste. Saute it until the raw smell is gone.
- Add the Turmeric powder, Red Chili powder and chopped Tomato. Saute it for 1 minute.
- Add the Rice, Salt and Water. Mix it well. Close the lid. Let it cook for 2 to 3 whistles and turn off. When the pressure comes down, carefully remove the lid and add the chopped Coriander leaves and gently mix it.
- Serve it hot with Raita, Chips/ Pappad.
Note:
- If the cooked Rice is wet, let it rest for 10 min so the water can evaporate.
