Living in a country outside of India, it is always not possible to feed your Kid the regular Indian food when they go to school/day care. The mom has a big responsibility to come with new ideas and non traditional ways of making a kid friendly Recipe. Idli – though is good for kids, it’s kind of bland when eaten without any side dish (again- limitations of school/day care). So i decided to add a flavor that is healthy and tasty and at the same time having fun when eating it. And that brings me to the Mini Veggie Idli (not that i am the first). My Toddler Son really loved it and had fun eating it. Oh, by the way, it’s good for Adults too! :).
Ingredients:
- Idli Batter – 1.5 cup
- Grated Carrot – 2 tbsp
- Grated Ginger – ¼ tsp
- Coriander leaves (Finley Chopped) – 1 tbsp
- Green chili paste – ¼ tsp / (optional)
- Salt – to taste
Serves – 36 mini Idli
Cooking Time – 10 minutes
Preparation Time – 2 minutes
Preparation:
- Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients.
- Mix the Batter and you can pour the Batter in greased mini Idli plate and keep it in the Idli cooker and steam it for 8 to 10 minutes in the medium- high flame.
Tip:
- For Babies you can give Idli with Ghee and Sugar.
Note:
- Make sure the Batter is not too watery, then you can’t make Idli’s.
