INGREDIENTS:
- Raw Rice – 1 cup
- Channa Dal – 2 tbsp
- Grated Jaggery – 1 ½ cup (According to you taste your can adjust)
- Grated coconut – 3 tbsp
- Water – 3 cups
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
- Ghee – 2 – 3 tbsp
- Cashew nuts – 5 pieces
PREPARATION:
- Dry roast the raw rice until golden color. And grind it in the mixie to the rava consistency. (If needed you can sieve the ground rice, optional)
- Dry rost the channa dal until golden color. Coarsely grind it in the mixie.
- Take a heavy bottom pan, boil the water and add the jaggery until it melts. Slowly add the rice rava(ground rice) and Coarse channa dal, mix it well. Let it cook for 2 minutes in the medium flame.
- Add the ghee , grated coconut ,cardamom powder and mix it well.
- Transfer this kali in to a vessel (If the kali is very thick you can sprinkle some water and mix it well). And put it into the pressure cooker and cook it for 2 whistles.
- Garnish it with fried cashew nuts.
- Serve it hot with kootu.
